The book called "Between Mom and Jo" is about this 14 year old boy named Nick who has two lesbian mothers. Constantly been taunted by younger boys over the years, Nick must learned to cope with the whole idea of having two mothers. After a difficult relationship between Nick's biological mother and her girlfriend, Nick realized that they had grown apart and decided to move on with their lives. Nick immediately learns that he is now alone at home with only his mother. One question pops into his mind...Where is Jo?

This was an amazing book! Its all about growing up and learning the whole truth about one's family. Somehow, I could feel Nick's pain about losing one of his parents. (Not that I have lost a family member). Additionally, Julie's writing is realistic! I love how she writes the perspective of a 14 year old boy! She does a great job doing so! I also feel very attached to Nick in someways because I know in today's society, a lot of kids gets harrased in school by older kids, and they feel very trapped and scared. I really feel bad for Nick. Overall, if I would've rate this book on a scale between 1-10, I would give it a 9.5 out of 10 because of it creativity, life, plot, and writing.
