Poor Ike! His plans to take a leisurely cruise go badly awry when he is forces to drive across America in a car with cats. Since Ike hates cats, he plots to leave them behind at each step of the way or find a way to get on that cruise ship himself. All the time, he writes letters to end his misery. But across the countryside they go, tempers rising and fur bristling all the time. Although this title features a canine and felines, the road trip reminds me of some I've been on in which I couldn't reach my destination soon enough, and it was not all about the journey, which was already far too long in the company of unworthy companions.
