For some reason I used to have the opinion that, when possible, a person should read the "Unabridged" version of a book because, after all, that's what the writer intended, right? Reading the Unabridged Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court helped cure me of that idea. This book has a fine story in it. Unfortunately, if you read the "whole thing" you will have to put up with all of Twain's continued detours on political rants. These just slow down the story and distract the reader. Do yourself a favor and read this as an abridged paperback.
