I really enjoyed this one! Doctorow painted a modern-day dystopia, one that rings too true. His characters were well-developed, realistic. It's often difficult for adult writers to write a first-person teenager without sounding a little like, well, and adult writing a teenager. Doctorow, though, nailed it on the head.

I appreciated his penchant for explanation; this book serves almost as a how-to-hack guide as it does a novel. The only reason I can't give it 4-stars is because his female characters were a little flat. I recommend this to everyone: teens and adults alike!
