really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction-travel
Read in February, 2008

Going places by train is something that I have always enjoyed and never really get to do quite enough. Theroux captures the sights and cultures of peoples from the beginning of his trip on a South Station, Boston subway to the end of the line in Esquel, Patagonia.
Theroux takes the reader to places that seem both dangerous and exotic. Maybe the danger is what makes it so exotic?
