A Year in the Merde by Stephen Clarke
There were a lot of inside jokes to this book that I am not sure one would get if they have not been to France. Since Tracy and I were there for 6 months, this book had me rolling. If you should decide you want a real life glimpse into France then I think this book puts it pretty straight forward. He is a bit critical at times, but I think he hits it right on the nose. I can't tell you how many times I felt his same frustration with the french people while I was there. Oh and the dog poop everywhere, he is really not exaggerating even a little bit. Very funny book.
