I'm a huge fan of the (TV) series and have seen both movies (not the best but fun) this is the 2nd 'Carrie' book, maybe my take isn't what it could be as I didn't read the 1st book...

I liked the pre-adult Carrie story...Bushnell does a good job of showing us how Carrie's personality exists before we know her as an adult. I love Carrie, for all her faults, neuroses, and flaws, and it's interesting to see how her selfish side comes through as a teenager. And - her eclectic love for fashion, which was fun to read. As I read, I wondered how much Bushnell thought of the actual actors who portrayed her iconic characters in the TV series? As Carrie would write: "I couldn't help but wonder..." :)

This is definitely an easy breezy summer read. (I did find one typo towards the middle/end, which slightly annoyed, but everything else was good!)
