I loved it....

Shardlake is a wonderful character - full of peculiar beliefs and emotions. Other characters are introduced and are fully rounded individuals by the time the book concludes. This is how books should be written.

You think you've worked it out - then you get thrown a wobbler - you reassess only to have that rug pulled from beneath your feet too.

I cannot wait to read the third in the series and hope that I do not become bored with Shardlake. These novels have even inspired me to discover more of the history of the period.
