Darwin8u One of my favorite books of all time. This might be the ONE book I'd take on a desert island.

Caroline I can understand why. I listened to the audible version and will keep it active on my phone library, to dip into at random on my daily walks when the novel of the moment can't hold my interest. I anticipate hearing gradually expanding wisdom in it over the coming years, as I am ready for where Montaigne has plowed the ground long before me.

Darwin8u Try Burton's 'Anatomy of Melancholy' or 'Meditations' by Marcus Aurelius if you haven't already.

Caroline Thank you for the suggestions. I've read a bit of Burton and want to get back to it, and Marcus Aurelius a very long time ago--time to revisit.
