really liked it

** spoiler alert ** I really liked this book. A lot of things came together that I'd been waiting for. There have been hints about Manny and Butch being related since early on, so it was nice to have that finally come out. I loved that V had a vision of the future that wasn't related to death. Another female fighter, which is always a good thing. I love Xhex and now she's finally got company.

I had hoped that Blay would truly fall for Saxton, whom I adore. I think he's a much better match for Blay than Qhuinn is. It became pretty darn clear in this book that it's not going to happen, but also that Saxton's not going to be too terribly broken-hearted about it. I'm glad, because I think he's fabulous. I like to think he'll get his own HEA in there somewhere.

I was also happy to see the relationship with V and Jane explored some more. I didn't love V's book. It just felt like something was missing. This sort of fixed that, and I love how the Warden doesn't just leave couples to an HEA without ever showing any complications. We've revisited Beth and Wrath, and now V and Jane. It makes the relationships more realistic that they aren't mated then perfectly happy forever and ever amen. I'd love to see Rhage and Mary revisited at some point, though I can hardly see how they have room for discontent. But I digress...

Overall a good read, and I'm really looking forward to Tohr's book next year.
