I wish I could do 3.5 stars....

It was not my favorite DeLillo book but I did really like it. He has a fluid but jumpy writing style that I love. I think it makes the scenes feel more real.

The paranoia felt by the characters is a very different kind from that in the last of his books. I was reading one review of DeLillo's books that criticized the way his characters are always so paranoid but I enjoy this aspect of his novels - the characters are often overdone, a little crazy, strange but I think that is what gives them their literary strength. The overdone paranoia makes the things they worry about appear like massive, world altering problems (sometimes they actually are) which is an excellent reflection on current politics, world problems, society.

There was a little less humor in this one; some more sadness and isolation. It reflected on a different part of our society and different issues that concern us
