A collection of sometimes funny essays alternating between, I think, fact and fiction. The draw of the book - the title - is misleading in that New Jersey, while shaping the author, does not play as prominent of a role as I had supposed. This is one of those books that I was not entirely interested in reading and set goals for myself - read three essays this weekend - in order to finish it, as compared to other books where I was interested in the story or liked the author's style and had to put the book down only when it got too late or other things intruded.
