Ugh. Too much hyperbole, too much writing about what the characters are thinking (which wasn't even interesting anyway) way too implausible plot. I like chick lit, but I need a little reality at least. Anything to do with the LDS Church felt self-conscious and preachy. She tries too hard for the witty observation but not everything can be the evil cat "of doom" or "turning to mush" every time you think of or see your husband. I was so thoroughly bored. I slogged through 80 pages, skipped to the end, and then read a little of the middle after I saw a main character died. But my goodness, this was a painful read because of the bad writing. I liked Austenland quite a bit, despite its flaws, but not this one. It was atrocious.
