The Present

Ask me why I keep reading this series when I've rated every one with either 2 or only 3 stars....
I very much enjoy it being a family series and revisiting characters, finding out where their lives have gone as well as being with a character I've gotten to know as they find their own romance.
The trouble is, so many romance authors can't seem to write a story that isn't so loaded with immature behavior that it makes it difficult to truly enjoy it. You CAN have passion and romance and suspense and conflict and intrigue and drama withOUT having the characters resort to such childish behavior. I suppose it doesn't make sense to say I want my fantasy to be more realistic?
I dunno, sometimes it feels a little perverted.. almost as if these people are little children getting married and having sex.
There's so much promise and yet it's just too immature in the end for pure pleasure or higher ratings, but I've got a long ride to and from work and these do well enough. =(
