Fade (Dream Catcher, #2)

I liked this one a little better than Wake. It picked up a bit with more action. Cabel and Janie are on a case to figure out the identity of a possible sexual predator and the storyline is interesting. It doesn't seem meant to be a mystery for the reader as things are being figured out fairly early on. The interest is in the challenge the characters have in gathering evidence and nailing the culprit while additionally dealing with personal challenges that Cabe and Janie are going through because of this case. The physical effects of Janie's abilities are increasing and she finds out more about her ability. There are a couple twists in the case that unfold toward the end. Some of it is a bit unlikely but as I've said before that could be said of a lot of fiction and especially mystery and suspense. The writing style was a little more distracting to me at some points in this book, a little choppy. But it flowed well for most of the book. The characters lives and relationship is moving along and more answers are revealed. I like the main characters and found the story quite interesting. We are left with some hope and happiness but also some unpleasant prospects for the future. I'm interested to see what the final book has in store for these characters and hope they get happiness.
