** spoiler alert **
My mom heard good things about this book and purchased it for me. The first part, about how the family rescued Sprite and how Sprite integrated himself into the family was good and very touching.
However, when Mark Levin started talking about Sprite's death and how he dealt with his grief over the loss, I felt like I was intruding -- it was like this part of the book was written for himself, and it was his attempt to come to terms with it; and by the end of the book, it didn't feel like he'd done that.
Don't get me wrong -- it's not that I feel that books need to have any sort of happy ending, but there needs to be some sort of conclusion, one way or the other.
Honestly, this book is so personal that I think Mark should have kept it to himself.
