I planned on NEVER READING this book. I knew it would break my heart. I avoided it for almost two years. I only read it b/c many AP teachers were discussing it as a possible independent read. Although my stomach hurt for the first 150 pages, I couldn't stop reading it. Beautiful writing and amazing point of view. Even though the last half truly broke my heart, I felt it was realistic. Even though it made me sad AND it will haunt me for awhile, ROOM truly is one of the best books I've read since Irving's LAST NIGHT IN TWISTED RIVER or THE GLASS CASTLE.

Judy Schmitz I want to read this book even if it is sad. I am going to try and find it. I haven't read Last Night in Twisted river either. How did I miss that?

Melissa Simons You'd love both-Last Night in Twisted River reminds me a lot of my love for "Peace like a River"
