Despite being touted as a complete departure for Terry Goodkind, this book is in fact the logical extension of the final book in the Sword of Truth series. It takes place in our world, the world that Richard Cypher created at the end of the final novel. Like several of the novels in the Sword of Truth series, this novel is bloated with unnecessary detail until the very end, when the race to the conclusion is frantic and rushed. And the writing seems to have regressed to the level of the first one or two novels in the series, to the point where I was turning pages without really reading them, just to get through it.

Also, Terry Goodkind is obsessed with nipples.
