** spoiler alert **
A twist on an old werewolf story; it shows a major midlife crisis on an 'average' father's life when he get's fired and becomes a stay at home dad. When trying to deal with a son whom he's not had to take care of full time he's at his wits end. Simon, the father, heads to a playground in an attempt to calm his son down one day when he meets three other fathers and their children. They start hanging out and after a father's night out and some 'strong beer' things seem to get crazy and more out of hand than before. Simon's old boss ends up dead along with his neighbors, the police are questioning Simon and his already rocky marriage is just getting worse.
Not a book I'd probably read again but it was a good first read for me. And it's definitely not one I'd usually pick up either. It was a hit or miss with me with action here and there and mystery but I guess I just didn't connect with the main character like I do with others. It was a good book, don't get me wrong but just not my cup of tea I guess. About the only time I was really into it was at the end with a huge fight scene between the werewolves.
It's a read though. I'd recommend it to otheres if they're wanting something different from the usual.
