really liked it

63/100 I was torn between giving this book three or four stars. It wasn't amazing, and it was nowhere near original. I allways tend to enjoy against the odds survival stories, but after the beginning, I struggled to appreciate the book. The characters were safe for a good three quarters of the book. In fact, I'd go as far as to say they eat more Ice Cream than they do worry about zombies. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but still...

The characters aren't really that likable. The main protagonist, who is Australian, is a decent lead character. The rest I found somewhat annoying. They always complain, and the relationships between them are disjointed.

As they search 30 Rock, their hideout, they find guns. At this point, I was hoping they'd try to fight a few zombies, but the characters seem content to stay in their base, and do nothing but argue.

However, with a few tweaks, and some more action, the sequel could be a decent read. Fingers crossed.
