really liked it
bookshelves: historical, mystery-and-crime
Read from July 06 to 07, 2011

Despite an ending that wasn't quite as set up as I'd have liked, the mystery was a step back to form from the last book. Julia seems a little more flighty than usual though, and I'm not too crazy about that.

It's great that Brisbane has been concerned with Julia's safety, but their arguments about her involvement in his work don't take long to get tedious. I rarely get this meta about my reading, but it's a mystery series about Julia. She's going to investigate. Move on, already. My biggest hope is that this book signals the end of their transition to married partners, and that we can leave the fights behind.
