This is another author riding on the back of the success of the Da Vinci Code, and not very well in my opinion.

It took me ages to get through this book. More than once I considered abandoning it but I don't like doing that however bad it is. I was still over three quarters of the way through the book before I felt I was getting into it.

Right from the beginning I felt like I'd missed something somewhere along the way. I kept coming across a character or a situation and wondering whether we'd already met that character or how they came to be in this situation. I felt like things hadn't been explained properly from the outset. Also, I didn't find the characters particularly memorable or described well enough to be able to picture them, which helped add to the confusion.

The action does hot up toward the end of the book, but that's about all it's got going for it. The premise of the story isn't even that original.
