really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction
Read from May 17 to June 10, 2011

I had this on mostly in the background while I was doing other things, so there are plenty of details I'm missing. The book is mostly about the military happenings in 1776 as opposed to the political happenings. I learned quite a bit. David McCullough narrated, and did a fine job.

Philip Good book, I bet you'll like it. It's funny how we see so many movies or TV shows about historical periods, but we don't realize how much we didn't know until we check out a book on the subject.

Debbie His book on John Adams was excellent as well. I learned a lot, especially about the conflicts among the Founding Fathers which is very contrary to the view we tend to have today of their work in founding this country of ours.

Scott D. I need to read that one, Debbie. And also the Benjamin Franklin bio by Walter Isaacson.
