I began this the other day in the airplane headed home. I was immediately caught and transported into a different time and place and am anxious to return there.
I really liked this book. The prose was extremely lyrical and created a time and place quite different from anything in the present. Like all books that deal with memories, time is relative and moves backward and forward at will. In so doing the writer places the reader in a moment frozen in time and then does so again and again with new and incomplete memories. In a dream we see things clearly but only briefly and wish we had seen more. In this book I felt like I was inside a dreamers mind only to find him awaken leaving me wanting more and more.
