I have been a fan of Demetri Martin for years now, love his unusual and unique approach to comedy. This book is no different, it is chock full of short stories, and vignette's that could have been awesome gems if his sketch comedy show "Important Things with Demetri Martin" weren't canceled. One of my favorite sections in the book is the short "Titles" in which a US military General is talking to a newly landed Alien making contact, the alien refuses to talk to the President as there are many presidents (president's of Kiwanis club's, PTA's, etc.) and he only wants to talk to Miss Universe as there is only 1 of them. Some other great sections are, "How I felt," "My Band," "Short Stories," "Excerpts from my Often True Autobiography," "More Statistics," and more. The book really opens your eyes as to the thought and attention Demetri brings to his comedy, he is a very witty man and while there were a few sections of the book that fell short the good definitely outshines the bad, i would buy his next book if he chose to write one.
