Kurt Vonnegut's son has what perhaps may be the most interesting memoir of insanity. Most interesting, not because of its quality, but more because of how interesting his life was (maybe is?). He lived in the thick of the 60's and charts the energetic climate very well. In the book, he is a typical 60's to read about.
He has one of my favorite ideas: (paraphrasing) If I had to justify my existence I would site my love for her in my defense.
