Finding Zach, by Rowan Speedwell, surprised me. At the start, the main character appeared in a scene that, though it may certainly have happened in real life, seemed to stretch credibility for fiction. Yet I felt compelled to read on because Zachary Tyler had already become a character I couldn't ignore. As the novel progressed I found myself more and more involved with Zach, and with David—his partner in romance—as they work through highs and lows following in quick succession, looking for the Zach that still exists beneath the trauma. Bottom line, Speedwell took an impossible story and made it real, took improbable characters and gave them depth and breathed life into them. In conclusion, the novel is so engrossing that the pages practically turn themselves. Great romance!
