I was urged to read this book by a friend of mine. She had read up to Dead to the world (book #4), and LOVED the series so far. Deciding that everyone around her would love it too, it was thrust upon me.

I am delighted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a few let downs, in the sense that I wanted to morph into the book and smack 'Sookie', the main character, around a bit for being so Vague and strongly wimpish. I did get over this a little, however, via the second book.
Sookie has been raised well by her grandmother, after her and her brother Jason's parents died, many years prior, so this is to say her good nature never discriminate, especially towards those of the supernatural world.
