Read from May 15 to June 02, 2011

I think Ashley Judd has a lot of useful information to convey about family abuse, addiction, depression and patterns and she does so through her personal story. More captivating for me, she shares stories from her travels with a non-profit organization working for women's health and doing HIV/AIDS work throughout Africa, Asia and Central America. Though all her story was interesting, her writing is weak, even despite working with another writer to create the autobiography. The story line seems disjointed at times and lacking in fundamental background. Thus the 2-star rating. But the information about women, poverty, patriarchy, sexual exploitation and their inevitable ties was illuminating and will reach a wider audience with her as the author.
