This book was recommended to me for its chapter on forgiveness. I appreciated Forward's insight into the dynamics in unhealthy and/or damaging parent-child relationships which she describes in the first half of the book. The second half, which proposes a cure in addition to recommending real-time psychotherapy, was not as interesting or as useful. It offers more of a guideline for the process you would undergo in psychotherapy.
