This is the first book ive read from Dean Koontz and all i can say is wow i am exhausted from what i have read in such a good way. The Story of Jimmy Tock who at the moment he is born his grandfather dies, but before Josef dies he tell's his son to jot down predictions for his son. Among them were that although called James everyone would call him Jimmy and he would be born with the condition Syndactyly. More sinister was five dates in the future were terrible events would occur. In the same hospital at the same time as Jimmy's birth a distraught man Konrad Beezo a circus clown would kill a doctor after his wife died during cild birth. Beezo would take what he thinks is his son so setting the scene for Jimmy life of living in fear with each upcoming date.

The one thing that was continually in my mind was what was the connection between Konrad, his son and fellow clown Punchinello and Jimmy. Toward's the end of the book and the ending revealed that connection that had me re reading a few passages to try and fully understand why thing's happened the way they did. Along the way Jimmy meets his future wife in the most unlikely way and has four kid's who also end up being being caught up in the terror of the five dates in Jimmy's life.

There were a few things that were disappointing like the usual when violence is happening it's a police free zone, dialling 911 only to find no signal and instead of killing the person tied to the tree you just leave him there. But for all those thing's Life Expectancy was still a great read wich had me on the edge of your seat and may leave you permantly frightened of clowns.
