Wow! Difficult reading unless the reader is up to date on recent events in Turkey. The protagonist is a poet called Ka who goes to Kars to report on a rash of religious girls who have committed suicide because they are forbidden to wear their head scarves. He falls in love and though he professes to be an atheist, is able to write a series of beautiful poems because he feels God's love.Nobel Prize winner.
