This book is about a single dad, Miles Ryan, who lost his wife in a accident about three years ago. He is a deputy for the town he lives in and is trying to figure out killed his wife in the hit and run accident. Miles' son's teacher, Sarah Andrews, meets Miles and starts to fall in love with him. The get very close but Miles is still having a hard time getting over his wife that died. Miles figures out that Sarah's brother actually was the one that killed Miles' wife. Sarah and Miles' relationship is ruined. At first he won't even talk to her but at the end, he starts to talk to her again.

This story takes place in New Bern, North Carolina. Sarah's brother, Brian creates conflict when he confesses to Sarah that he killed Miles' wife. Sarah is heartbroken and doesn't want to tell Miles because their relationship will be ruined. Miles starts to have depression and forgets about all the good things in his life.

I really liked this book because it had romance and mystery in it. I gave this book five stars. I think anyone could read it because it doesn't have that hard of a vocabulary but it could be read by young adults and teenagers.
