What can I say about this book? It's utterly brilliant and utterly weird. I read it close to 6 years ago and still think of it all the time. It's really rather difficult to describe. It's a future noir book, but it has a very old fashioned feel to it, more like an actual Sam Spade book than a standard Future Noir novel. Or more acurrately I guess it's more like Blade Runner than The Plutonium Blonde. However it's also all taken with a bit of a wink to the audience, it's all very odd and fun. And the killer is a great revelation. The clues are all there you just have to see them, which you won't because you'll be distracted by all the kangaroos and things. It has some really creepy moments like when he goes to see the evolved babies, that's just weird and creepy. But it is overall a brilliant piece of work.
