I bought this when my daughter was about 3.5 and we've been working through it at a snail's pace. I wait until she brings it to me and we do as much of a lesson as she wants - I don't push her. The book breaks reading and writing down into small steps, and the emphasis is on phonics, not sight reading. She's reading short words now, which I'm thrilled about. I'm hoping the pace will pick up, but if not, maybe we'll get through all the lessons before kinder. I figure if she's learning a little at a time, we'll be good to go. I think I will start introducing it to my 2.5 year old as well as soon as she knows all the letters. We use the Leapfrog Letter Factory DVD for that - it took my older a couple of weeks to learn her alphabet with sounds that way, and my younger is on her way as well.
