The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore
by Deepak Chopra
by Deepak Chopra
This book approaches Jesus as an individual who attained ultimate enlightenment. The traditional "dogma" of church teachings are set aside. Instead,Chopra tries to examine what Jesus says in the scriptures as an enlightened man rather than dwell on wheather he was literally the son of God. Chopra has consistantly over the years taught that every human has the compasity to find God within themselve. That God is esentially everywhere. He believes that individuals like Jesus, Buddah and others have been able to reach a level of connection to God so profrondly that their teachings reflect this. For those who have strong fundimental Christian beliefs where the only truth is thier truth this book would be disturbing. For those who are open to examing other spirital possibilies this might be a book to add to your exploration.

sounds wonderful. there is a group of jesus scholars - i read a book by one "meeting jesus again for the first time - that seem to have a similar philosophy. jesus as a spiritual teacher and as a man - i think they refer to him as the pre easter jesus, the post easter jesus being the one of myth and dogma.
