Holy hotness, Batman! Why did nobody sit me down and give me a stern lecture on why I needed to start this series ages ago? I mean, whoa.
Love, love, love the mythology laid out here. It's layered and complex enough that I can imagine a lot of different scenerios that Kresley Cole can give us without the storylines feeling stale or recycled. Let's face it, that's pretty darn awesome.
Despite the short length of this story (113 pages or so in PDF format), I never felt like we were shorted on character development or plot. Plus, we got the beginnings of that wicked mythology laid out. Not too shabby for a novella. Did I mention the sex? There's a lot of it and it's wickedly hot and I think I might want to start the next book in this series RIGHT FREAKING NOW. Seriously, I have a healthy respect for hotly written sex and this definitely hit the spot. Even though I was reading it at work and had to surpress a few blushes when people walked in. Good times, guys. Good times.
The moral of this story is that I liked this little gem a lot. It's whet my appetite for more of the Lorekind and I'm kicking myself for having these books sitting on my shelf for so long without reading them.
