This is a very interesting children's/YA ghost story. I loved the set-up; it just felt like such a traditional and "old-timey" ghost story (after all, it is set during WWII).

I felt like it was wrapped up too quickly with a very unsatisfactory ending. There was such a huge lead-up, with the clocks turning backwards and the statues that eerily moved when you weren't watching. And yet, the final event was very disappointing and I felt like it didn't resolve much.

A great start but a disappointing finish, in my personal opinion. After having read Shadow of the Wind, I was expecting a lot out of this book. I enjoyed reading it but didn't really like how the plot played out at the end.
