Hear No Evil (Jack Swyteck, #4)
by James Grippando (Goodreads Author)
by James Grippando (Goodreads Author)
Miami attorney Jack Swyteck is talked into defending a woman for murdering her husband. Wrinkle 1: the family was military stationed at Guantánamo in Cuba; wrinkle 2: the victim's adopted son is purported to be Jack's child; wrinkle 3: the Cuban government wants to get involved in the woman's defense.
Add to this interesting mix Jack's desire to know more about his Cuban mother who died when he was born. Even that figures into the story line. In fact, there were almost too many red herrings and sub plots and it seemed a bit improbable in some ways.
Nonetheless, the writing and third person voice was excellent. Authentic lawyer/courtroom material and distinctive characters.
