If you want a real post-apocalyptic horror/fantasy stunner, grab a copy of this!! And I'm talking stun someone by hitting-him-in-the-head-kind-of-book. The Complete and Uncut Edition of this book is 1168 pages long. The longest perhaps that I have read from the author.

The story was great despite its minor shortcomings. A super virus destroys most of mankind and what’s left are various survivors trying to pull themselves together in a world of emptiness and destruction. The writing is quintessential King, with his eye for detail and quirky descriptions that really brings the story to life.

If you like Ted Dekker's Circle Trilogy, then you will LOVE this. Or if you plan to read post-apocalyptic books, start here! This has the best detail, easy to read (although, really really really long), and definitely worth all the effort! :)
