This was a Goodreads, first reads book that I received recently and “Griffin Rising” is short and easy to read. I must say that I like reading about angels & enjoy fantasy books in general. Howerver, as I started the book it felt a bit choppy and I didn’t have a lot of attachment until about 1/3 of the way through, then I started to really enjoy it. The journal entries were what made the choppy feelings at first, but once you get used to them they are a really nice addition. I really liked the Latin and mythology in place, but I’m also in love with mythos in general. Griffin is a really likable character and equally dislikeable, though hardly mentioned (but ever present), is Nicopolis who is just annoyingly bad, but still a ‘good guy’. Griffin is just your typical teenage boy/angel and ‘watching’ his and Kate’s interactions are cute and I love that Griffin is chivalrous and respectful. The story seems to flow better as the book went on and then it just… ended. I am hoping there is a sequel and I suspect it will be even better than this debut novel. I would consider this to be a young reader’s book; I think my son would like it, in a few years, and Griffin would be a fairly good example for him. Anyway, I enjoyed reading it and look forward to more.

Darby Karchut Fallon, thanks so much for reviewing my book. I appreciate your insight - it really helped me a great deal! And, yes, there is a sequel. Griffin's Fire will be released next April.
Again, maany, many thanks!
