This was the first adult book I read as a kid. And I loved it. I still have fond memories of it, so I decided to read it again and see how much of it was just plain old nostalgia and how much of it was real. It turns out - It's a really good book.

Timothy Zahn knows how to write. What stood out to me the most was how much this felt like a Star Wars movie. It really did. Granted, most of the characterization relied on what we had known from the movie, but he invents some knew characters that slip into the plot just fine. And the plot is paced quite well. It's never boring.

So I guess, If you like Star Wars the movie, then there is a pretty good chance that you might like this book. And please don't let the fact that most books based on movies suck deter you. I think the Star Wars books are an exception to that rule.

Hey, it get's 5 stars from me, and I'm more often than not stingy about that.
