What an awesome saga. This is supposedly the longest of the family sagas, and man was it an interesting and fun read. Whether it was chasing outlaws near lava, knocking people's eyes out with molars taken from past battles, or intricate descriptions of the legal system of Saga Age Iceland, Njal's Saga was just plain sweet to read. The writing is very matter-of-fact, as with all of the sagas, but that didn't take away from it at all. One of the best sagas I've read.
