What just happened? This was the question that I was asking myself all the way through this book. Caine just keeps on coming with this series and I admit that I was expecting the series to go downhill a bit, but thankfully that's not the case. I'd probably say that this one gripped me more than the others. It was fast paced and full of surprises. There was a great amount of action but it didn't feel rushed or as though it was too much. There were a lot of different aspects to this book, the storyline of Eve and Michael's engagement and the attack of the draug amongst other things. Reading this book in different points of view, especially Amelie's, could've given a lot more insight but I don't think that it was as effective as it could've been - I dont think that Caine reaches her full potential when writing in so many different points of view, but it is still interesting. I think Amelie was the second most effective point of view after Claire and I really enjoyed learning more about her. Eve and Michael's points of view are a little too brief, for me. I love all of the characters in Morganville and feel that they're all very individual and strong. Their interaction and emotions are very realistic and make a good impact on the reader. Of course, the book is not without it's faults, but they do feel very minor compared to the captivating story that Last Breath offers. I really can't wait for the next installment of this fantastic series.
