Rick Riordan is one of the masters of fast-paced excitement to keep young readers on their toes. This book is no exception. Loved the scene changes and the different Egyptian gods the characters encountered. Extremely interesting was the trip of the sun god Ra from the time he sets until he rises.

I enjoyed this book much better than the first one. I have to say that the addition of the glossaries at the end helped tremendously, like the glossary of Egyptian terms. Since the characters still switch off narrating chapters, the name of the character speaking at the top of the pages helped me keep track.

Another winner for Riordan as attested by the number of 6th graders I saw reading "Throne of Fire."
