Ice: A Memoir of Gangster Life and Redemption-from South Central to Hollywood

Alright it's really a 3.5, 3 for the writing, 4 for the life stories...
After the Big Payback's history of hip-hop business I wanted to hear from Ice-T his take on the whole Warner/Cop Killer brouhaha; and was not disappointed. Ice-T's explanation of the genesis of Body Count (his ROCK, not Rap) group which landed squarely in the sights of the political dialogue of an election year was well-spoken and added a depth to the Warner deliberations I had read in the Big Payback.
Ice-T is the "real", as in he keeps it real, the real deal, and reality...this is why no one ever steps to his character, his early life and ability to transcend the traps of the hood are inspiring and the fact that he keeps trying to give back and illuminate a not at all improved situation re: gangs in is again something that speaks to his character.
He is a real O.G. in the truest sense, back to school the youths about how to navigate life and survive...and takin' no shorts along the way.
