The Lincoln Lawyer was really my first foray into reading books on my iPad. I am in love with Matthew McConaughey, so I thought I'd start with a main character that I could imagine looked like him.

What a wonderful insight into the life of a small-office defense attorney. I'm married to a lawyer, and after I read the book, I scrunched up my nose to my husband to tell him how disappointed I was with his kind.

I loved the pacing and the story, but I found fault with some of the main character's motivations. He was faced with an impossible situation and outright threats, and yet we didn't see him completely obsessing on how to solve his main problem. In fact, I thought it was kinda sneaky that he managed to address the problem without us knowing about it, even though we were in his head. I kept asking myself, "Would he really be worried about that right now when he's about to be framed for murder?"

But it was a delightful read, lots of fun, and a great way to get started with ebooks. I immediately bought another one after I finished.
