I have been a little leery of purchasing novels by Laurell K Hamilton in the last few years because they had evolved from the awesome fantasy stories that I loved into almost straight porn without much of a storyline to go with it. Personally I love exciting sex in a romance novel, but I don’t want to become bored by it when that’s all there is. This novel held my attention like Hamilton used to do years ago. I had a hard time getting any of my own work done because I couldn’t wait to get in and see what was going to happen. Back to work as a private investigator, Meredith and her men are called in by the police to assist when fey folk are being killed, then arranged to look like pictures out of fairy tale books. Frost and Doyle are two of my favorite characters. They are very exciting bigger than life men who I never get tired of reading about. Even though we still have a lot of sex going on—who wouldn’t with all the men in her life—there is still a decent plot to follow. It even managed to surprise me at the end, so good deal there. If you like novels about the fey and magic, and you enjoy reading about hot men—strong female lead in Meredith for you guys—then I think you’ll enjoy "Divine Misdemeanors". If you haven’t read any of the other novels in this series, then you’ll probably want to go back and take a look at them first. It’ll help you to keep the rather large group of characters straight. Might be a bit difficult to keep track of them all otherwise. Enjoy and I look forward to reading the next novel about Meredith Gentry and her men.
