This is the newest Charlotte and Thomas Pitt novel, set in Victorian England. Thomas was in the Police, but has been forced out, and is now part of the Special Branch, which investigates threats to the nation. Thomas' boss, Narraway, has been framed with embezzlement and released from service, so while Thomas is following up one threat, Narraway and Charlotte go to Ireland to track down the truth. Then when all three of them return to England, they must find some way to save the Queen from the anarchist plot which is behind all the events.
