If you like hard boiled and scifi/postappocaliptic fiction David Valentine is the protagonist for you. Suitably myterious and tragic origins, devil may care attitude, deep broding sense of personal justice(usually involving violence), and yet the odds always remain stacked against him. I have enjoyed the entire series and eagerly await the next installment.
